Wide receiver Cameron Meredith is officially a member of the New Orleans Saints after the Chicago Bears declined to match the offer sheet he inked with the Saints last week worth two years, $9.6 million, with $5.4 million in guarantees.

Meredith, 25, had played his entire career with the Chicago Bears after he signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2015 out of Illinois State.

After an impressive 2016 season, he was a top the Bears depth chart heading into last season before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee during a preseason game.

Chicago tendered Meredith, a restricted free agent, an original round draft pick, meaning they could match any offer sheet Meredith signed with another team, but receive no compensation from his new team if they don’t match.

They had until 3:00pm today to match, declining to do so.

At 6'3, 207 lbs, Meredith impressed with his body control and speed during his breakout season of 2016.

In two seasons, he's accumulated 77 catches for 1,008 yards and 4 touchdowns.
