Guests aboard the cruise ship were sequestered to their cabins while rescue operations unfolded. As you might imagine, Arrin Myers, who was on board the Legend, suggested in her comments that the mood on the vessel went from being disappointed in the change of plans to a genuine concern for the stranded sailor.
Needless to say, when the Captain reported that the sailor and his cat Dahlia had been successfully rescued and brought on board, the mood among the passengers was "wild, crazy, fun".
Preliminary reports suggest the sailor was not injured, although it was unclear how long he and Dahlia had been stranded at sea. Following the rescue, the Carnival Legend resumed its planned itinerary, which included stops in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
