After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday the parent company of Charming Charlie, a jewelry and accessory retailer announced the closing of all 261 locations of their stores nationwide. This closing includes stores in Acadiana Mall in Lafayette, Prien Lake Mall in Lake Charles, and six other stores in the state.

The retailer had previously closed 100 stores across the country as part of prior bankruptcy restructuring in April of 2018. Thursday's announcement that the company was once again seeing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy led to the decision to close the remaining stores.

Many of the Charming Charlie retail outlets are currently holding going out of business sales. The company expects all stores to be close by August 31.

The closing of Charming Charlie in Acadiana Mall will mark the seventh national retailer that has closed at that location this year. The other national retailers that have shuttered their stores in Acadiana Mall in 2019 include Banana Republic, Gap, Baby Gap, Payless Shoes, Charlotte Russe, and Things Remembered.
