The prize was estimated at over $636 million dollars. There were millions of Christmas hopes and dreams riding on the outcome of how those little ping pong balls bounced. In there end there were two. Yes two winning tickets sold for the Mega Millions jackpot last night.

According to reports the lucky ticket holders made their life changing purchase in San Jose California and Atlanta Georgia.  The owners of the two winning tickets, when verified, will share the nations second largest lottery jackpot ever. The ticket in San Jose was sold at Jennifer's Gift Shop and the Atlanta purchase was made in a mall at the Gateway Newsstand.

The winning numbers were 8, 14, 17, 20, 39; Mega Ball: 7.

If you were wondering there were 22 draws made before there was finally a winner. At one point yesterday Mega Millions tickets were selling at the rate of 25-thousand per minute. The prize winners will have their choice of taking the money paid out over time which would be approximately $318 million or $170 million dollars each or taking $341 million in cash before taxes.

The next jackpot in the Mega Millions game will begin at $15 Million dollars. That drawing will be held on Friday night.
