Does This Mean Blue-Eyed People Shouldn’t Marry One Another?
Are all blue-eyed people related? Sounds like a dumb question, doesn't it. The Business Insider reports, all blue-eyed people apparently have one common ancestor. This individual was likely born somewhere in Europe between 6,000 & 10,000 years ago. Before that, everyone had brown eyes. A genetic mutation occurred during that time, reducing the brown pigment in human eyes, allowing blue eyes. Curly hair, blue eyes and left-handedness are all genetic "mutations."
Given that I exhibit all three, I'm more comfortable with the term "recessive traits." Since it goes back thousands of years, I guess it must be okay for blue-eyed people to marry.
