Don's Seafood And Steakhouse

Don’s Seafood and Steakhouse in downtown Lafayette was open for over 80 years. It was established in 1934 by Don Landry and became a staple for Cajun cuisine in the area, known for its seafood, gumbo, and crawfish.

The downtown location remained open until March of 2020, when it closed its doors after decades of serving the community.

Other locations in the Don's continue to operate in Lafayette and Acadiana, carrying on the restaurant’s delicious legacy.

Over its 83-year history, Don's was more than just a place to eat. It became a community hub where families gathered, friends reunited, and tourists came to get a taste of Acadiana.

The restaurant's location downtown made it accessible to people coming to Lafayette for business, tourism, or community events.

The closure was a bittersweet moment for many, marking the end of an era in Downtown Lafayette's culinary and cultural history.

Now, plans have been unveiled for the future of the iconic Downtown location.
