Downtown Lafayette’s Merry & Bright Holiday Experience Kicks Off Fri, Dec. 6

Downtown Lafayette will be glowing for the Christmas season with its Merry & Bright Holiday Experience, kicking off this Friday, December 6.

The festivities begin with Chubby Carrier's Christmas Concert this Friday, December 6 in Parc Sans Souci.

The Parc will feature photo-op props, twinkling bright lights, and a 20-foot Christmas tree. Before the music gets cranked up, Downtown will host its ceremonial lighting of the tree to celebrate the joyful holiday spirit.

At Friday's Christmas Concert, attendees can walk into a winter wonderland complete with the Coca-Cola Christmas truck accompanied by Santa Claus, delicious food truck vendors, and beverages for the whole family.

Organizers ask that you leave your pets and ice chests at home and support the nonprofit organization putting on the event by buying a drink at the show.

Everyone is also invited to take a stroll Downtown to see the businesses that have converted their storefronts into a "Winter Wonderland," featuring creative installations by local artists.

The public can vote for their favorite storefront at this link. The winning artist will receive a $500 prize from Downtown Lafayette Unlimited.
