Duson Police Make Drug Bust During Weekend Traffic Stop
The message that Police Chief Kip Judice and his team of law enforcement professionals seem to be sending out to drug dealers and drug users is this. Stay out of Duson. The department scored yet another major drug bust as part of a traffic stop that happened on Saturday.
The traffic stop was initiated when the driver of the suspect vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. The ensuing stop lead to a search of the vehicle. That search netted over $7,500 in illegal drugs and paraphernalia were recovered.
According to reports the initial search of the vehicle lead to the recovery of more than 6.35 grams of methamphetamines, $360 cash, a scale and several small zip lock bags that are commonly used to distribute drugs.
A subsequent search of passengers in the vehicle lead to the recovery of an additional 38 grams of methamphetamine. Chief Judice said via the department's Facebook page that the investigation into the traffic stop and drug arrests are is ongoing.
