Elton Teacher Arrested On Allegations Of Inappropriate Contact With Students

Elton High teacher, Justin Joseph Fruge, has been arrested and accused of inappropriate contact with students.

"Deputies with the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Justin Joseph Fruge, 35, of Elton, late Monday and booked him into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail on two counts of molestation of a juvenile. No bond has been set as of Tuesday morning, Ivey said.

Cmdr. Chris Ivey with the Sheriff's Office said the two counts are based on at least two alleged incidents of inappropriate contact that detectives feel they can prove.

Detectives received a complaint Friday from Jeff Davis Superintendent Brian Lejeune about alleged inappropriate contact between a teacher and at least one student, Ivey said. Investigators found messages between Fruge and the victim, messages that Ivey said detectives feel will substantiate the allegations.

Investigators also received information from a former student that Fruge may have been behaving inappropriately with students as far back as 2008, so they are talking to former students as well as current students, Ivey said."
