We are so blessed to live in a part of the country that has an abundance of locations that actual Hollywood actors, directors and screenwriters want to feature. The movie and television industry has embraced the state of Louisiana so much so, that we are affectionately known as the "Hollywood of the South"

So, it's no coincidence that we have a beautifully made feature that was filmed partially right here in Acadiana. "Lost Bayou" was shot during two frigid weeks in January 2018 near Arnaudville, Henderson, and Breaux Bridge. The film showcases the beauty and serenity of our area, and the Cajun and Creole heritage of the characters. "Lost Bayou"  debuted last year at the Tribeca Film Festival, and has already won several awards for cinematography and overall excellence.

According to WAFB the "story follows a struggling addict forced to reconnect with her estranged father aboard his secluded houseboat. She ends up making a chilling discovery that leads the pair deeper into the swamp". Star Terri Wyble grew up in Arnaudville, and attended UL Lafayette. She also had an extensive modeling career in New Orleans and Los Angeles, before returning home to film her part in the movie. Director Brian C. Miller Richard told WAFB “A lot of really talented people from Louisiana made this movie, It’s definitely a love letter to who we are and where we’re from."

"Lost Bayou" is available on Apple, Google Play, and Amazon. You can see a teaser trailer below.
