I have spent the past few months of my life learning and relearning about nutrition. Some foods that appear to be healthy for you actually are not.  One of those food groups that fall into "should be healthy but might not be" is fish.  You really do need to take into consideration the kind of fish you're thinking of preparing and its country of origin.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced yesterday that fish products sold under the brand name Fisherman's Wharf Swai Fillets Product of Vietnam have been recalled for what is being described as a "high health risk".

The reason for the recall is that the packages, distributed by H&T Seafood Inc. out of California, did not get an official once over by USDA inspectors. And, to make matters worse, the product was marked as if it had been inspected.

USDA officials say the one-pound bags of frozen fillets were distributed to stores in several states, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and South Carolina. Another area of concern is the inappropriately inspected and marked products were sold over an undetermined amount of time.

Should you find that you have these products in your freezer it is best the product be discarded. You should contact the store where you purchased the product for refund or replacement details. However, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or health-related issues because of these products so far.
