The 37th annual French Quarter Festival, which has already been moved once this year due to the NCAA Women's Final Four basketball tournament, has been rescheduled again.

The free outdoor music festival originally scheduled for April 2-5 was moved to April 16-19, and now is going to be set for October Oct. 1-4. The festival is popular with locals, and includes 25 stages throughout the French Quarter, and along the Mississippi River. 1700 musicians play the event every year, which has a huge impact on the economy, bringing in around $200 million dollars each year since it began in 1984.

According to nola.com 'French Quarter Fest is the largest entertainment event so far in New Orleans to be postponed or canceled in the face of the global coronavirus pandemic.' See the official statement from event organizers below.
