Fun, Free Activities Around the World to Celebrate New Year’s

If you are looking for adventure in the New Year, the folks at Travel + Leisure have got 93 ways for you to ring in 2017 in a big way, with little or no cash. Yay! And even though they compiled the list from last year, most of these are annual activities and events, which can be enjoyed year after year.

Everything from the free fireworks display in Philadelphia, to the annual Bonfire on the Beach in Ocean Beach, California, to the Big Downtown Bash in Toronto, there is something for everyone! • Vancouver - Waterfront Celebration on New Year's Eve
• Washington, DC - visit the United States Botanic Garden, with one of the largest indoor decorated trees in DC
• Houston - City Centre - live dj, fireworks, and specials from restaurants and retailers around the Centre
• Key West - Dachshund Walk and Parade
• New York City - Brooklyn Ball
• Philadelphia - Tours of the US Mint are free on New Year's
• Amsterdam - Fireworks Frenzy
• Aspen - Outdoor Winter Wonderland
• New Orleans - Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve will feature a free show with Panic at the Disco, Jason Derulo, and 'Pretty Little Liars' star Lucy Hale in front of Jax Brewery in the French Quarter
• Nashville - 'Music City Midnight', which replaces the annual 'Bash on Broadway', takes place at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, and features music, and a huge fireworks display with a music note drop at midnight.
