It is that time of year in south Louisiana when the weather is nice(r) and there are lots of fantastic, fun events happening in and around the area.

We'll stick to the Acadiana area and hook you up with a bit of a rundown of things to do this Friday, October 20 through Sunday, October 22.

Oh, grab some sunblock if you're going to be outside. KATC meteorologist Daniel Phillips is calling for high temperatures pushing 90 degrees each day with very little chance of rain.

Bach Lunch - Parc Sans Souci (Downtown Lafayette) - 11:00 am
Food vendors will be available on Polk Street for attendees to purchase lunch at 11:00 am and live music will begin at 12:00 pm. Featured performers are Major Handy and the Louisiana Blues Band ft. Sharona Thomas.

Events throughout the day include the Rice & Creole Cookery Contest, Jr. King & Queen's Contest, and Children's Parade. Plus, carnival rides and great live entertainment from Wayne Toups, Molly Ringwalds, Cupid, and more.


4th Annual Trunk or Treat - Acadiana Fitness in Carencro (329 Hector Connoly Rd) - 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Trunk-R-Treat for the kids plus Cars & Coffee (Antique Cars) of Lafayette, free breakfast, Halloween costume contest, door prizes, car show, and more.

16th Annual Boudin Cook-Off & Acadiana Bacon Fest - Parc International (Downtown Lafayette) - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sample the best boudin, creative boudin dishes, and bacon items from culinary masters from across the state and from as far away as Texas.

19th Annual St. Joseph's Catholic Church Tailgating Cook-Off - Loreauville Park - 9:00 am - 10:00 pm
Free admission. Great food, lots of family fun, and much more. Cornhole tournament at 9:00 am, Mass at 4:00 pm in the park building, live music from Cajun Roots from 1:00-3:00 pm followed by Side Show from 5:00-9:00 pm.

Boo Bayou - Vermilionville (300 Fisher Rd in Lafayette) - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Fun fall festival for the family which includes old-time games, face painting, trick-or-treating throughout the historic village and more. Admission is $5 for ages 2 and older. For more info, click here.

Gulf Brew 2023 - Downtown Lafayette - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This beer-centric festival features more than 200 different types of beer, live music across two stages, arts & crafts vendors, yard games, and Family Fun Zone.

Chick-fil-A New Iberia Trunk or Treat (1116 E Admiral Doyle Dr) - 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
