The banks of the Ouachita River, which bisects the Twin Cities of Monroe and West Monroe, Louisiana, will be lit up in grand holiday style as residents, guests, and lovers of Christmas gather for what promises to be a one-of-a-kind evening.

Drone Show Was Originally Scheduled for July 4th

Organizers of a Gingerbread Jubilee: 250 Years of Sweet Freedom have confirmed that the drone show, which was originally planned to be a part of a July 4th celebration, will now be part of the featured entertainment on December 5th at 6 pm.

What makes the show even more of a great holiday gift is the fact that it is free and there should be plenty of great viewing locations for families who not only want to catch the artistry of the drones but the flair of the fireworks and, of course, the pomp and circumstance of the annual Christmas Parade which will of course, include an early visit to Louisiana from Santa Claus.

The force behind A Gingerbread Jubilee is the members of the Downtown West Monroe Revitalization Group who see the parade, the fireworks, and the drone show as a great way to get folks to come downtown, experience the holiday atmosphere, and, of course, support local businesses.
