I-10 Buc-ee’s Reveals Grand Opening Plans – Louisiana Get Ready
Louisiana, your wait for Beaver Nuggets and rows and rows of toilets so clean you could perform science experiments is almost here. The brand new I-10 location of Buc-ee's, the travel center born in Texas and named after a man who takes his nickname from a rodent, will soon be open for your gassing, guzzling, and going pee pee on pristine porcelain pleasure.
Louisiana is quietly anticipating that feeling you get when your new Buc-ee's opens, but our time is not now. However, there has been some interesting progress on the I-20 Buc-ee's near Ruston. And we have fresh details on the I-10 location near Lafayette, too. It's an exciting time if you're a fan of brisket, jerky, and people watching because nothing brings out the best in the traveling public quite like a Buc-ee's stop does.
Where Is Louisiana's Closest Buc-ee's Travel Center?
Just like it seemed to take forever to get final details on when the new, or should I say resumed, Amtrak train service across the Gulf Coast between New Orleans and Mobile, it has taken a bit of patience to finally get details on exactly when this new Buc-ee's will open for business.
And much like the rail service, you won't have to wait too much longer to satisfy your beaver-born urges. Buc-ee's has confirmed that the Grand Opening of the Harrison County, Mississippi location will be on June 9th. The official ceremonies will take place at 10 am. I am guessing traffic will be "busy" around that time on that day at that location.

You can expect quite a bit of pomp and circumstance with this grand opening. You know the Buc-ee's "brass" will be in attendance. I would not be surprised to see the Governor of Mississippi, maybe a Congressman or two, a lot of television stations, some radio stations, and more than a few thousand other "influencers" hoping to share the first videos of the new Buc-ee's.
Since many of you in Louisiana will be making the drive along I-10 through Mississippi on your way to the beach this summer, you should know the Harrison County Buc-ee's is at the Menge Avenue Exit. It's on the north side of I-10. That is Exit 24 by the way which means the exit is approximately 24 miles east of the Louisiana/Mississippi line.
Where Is The Worst Location of Buc-ee's?
The state of Mississippi built a brand new overpass to help expedite traffic near the new travel center. We hope the Harrison County Buc-ee's won't suffer similar traffic issues that many of you have commented on from your experience at the Robertsdale, Alabama location, also on I-10.
