(Lafayette, Louisiana) - It seems as if winter doesn't want to leave the Deep South, as another cold front is expected to impact the southern states in a few days.

Yes, as you begin to plan summer vacations and continue watering the new plants you planted this Spring, and as cooler weather comes, many who love the cooler weather will greet it with open arms.

I say that because we know how brutal the Summer can be, so what's one more cool down? Now, I don't know if this late cool front will warrant taking out the large jackets, but you'll certainly feel the difference in temperature and humidity.

So, when does the latest cold front arrive? Meteorologists are forecasting that our next cool-down will arrive by Sunday. The front should bring a decent rainfall, but nothing much; however, temperatures will be back in the 50s at night, with daytime highs on Monday and Tuesday in the upper 70s.

Speaking of rainfall, those in the "weather world" will be watching the threat of thunderstorms in Acadiana by next weekend, and yes, that is when Festival International takes place in downtown Lafayette.

While it is still early, and things can change, it looks like there could be periods of heavy rainfall as thousands of people converge in the downtown district to celebrate the festival. We will monitor the potential severe weather threat next weekend and provide the latest here.

Until then, prepare for what may be our last cool-down, and if you still have some Spring cleaning to do outdoors, you may want to take advantage of the much more pleasant weather that is to come by early next week.

Here's a look at the extended forecast for Acadiana.

Five Places to Visit That Make You Feel Like You’re in Old Lafayette

The city of Lafayette seems to grow each and every week, and that's a good thing, but still, there are places in the city you can visit that give you that "Old Lafayette" feel. Nostalgia is part of the Lafayette culture. We love to think back on events and places that may no longer exist, but luckily, there are still some places in Lafayette that make it feel like you're back in the 60s, 70s, or 80s. Let's look at a few places you can still visit in Lafayette that have that "Old Lafayette" feel for some odd reason.
