The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a Louisiana murder case, and it's almost unbelievable who was arrested in connection with the case.

The Acadiana area has been no stranger to what seems to be an uptick in the number of homicides that we have seen happen in the last 18 months.

What is unusual about the latest case in Acadiana, is that a child has been arrested for a murder in Iberia Parish.

According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Public Affairs Director Katherine Breaux, officials with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, armed with a warrant arrested an 11-year-old female in connection with the murder of 36-year-old Kameran Bedsole which happened on Tuesday, November 14.

Officials with the Iberia Sheriff's Office found the body of the 36-year-old man in the 4700 block of Jasper Road. The man died after being shot.

The Sheriff's Office is not elaborating much on the case right now, but the child was arrested on the following Louisiana statute:

LA RS 14:30 First Degree Murder

The girl has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Juvenile Detention Center.

Breaux adds that detectives are still investigating this case, and they do believe that more arrests in connection with this murder will be forthcoming.

Officials say this child used to be a resident of Iberia Parish.

This is a developing story, and we will work to provide you with more information when it becomes available.
