A jury will spend more time deliberating today following the trial of a former BP engineer who prosecutors say obstructed a federal probe into the company's 2010 oil spill in the Gulf.

Jurors spent about an hour and a half deliberating Monday following closing arguments by the Justice Department.  Kurt Mix is charged with two counts of obstruction of justice.

Federal prosecutors say Mix was destroying evidence after he deleted hundreds of text messages between him, a supervisor and a contractor for British Petroleum.

Lawyers for Mix says he didn't hide anything when called before a grand jury.
