Lafayette parish has just released trash and debris pick-up information for residents dealing with clean up from the Louisiana flood.

From KATC -

Republic Services announced that Monday routes Lafayette Parish are running as usual. As soon as the Monday customers are serviced, the Republic trucks will circle back to the Friday routes in southeastern Lafayette Parish that were suspended due to localized flooding. Friday garbage customers should leave their garbage and recycling carts at the curb until picked up.

All garbage routes in the Youngsville area were suspended on Friday morning, as well as routes southeast of Kaliste Saloom Rd. Many roads in these areas were closed on Friday due to standing water.

Lafayette Consolidated Government’s (LCG) Department of Public Works wishes to inform all citizens that the storm debris and cleanup materials will not be picked up by Republic Services. This type of waste will be managed by a separate emergency debris contractor and details on that service will be forthcoming. As cleanup begins, residents are asked to keep debris, including furniture, appliances and construction materials, out of ditches as waters may rise again over the next few days. Residents should place their debris at the curb, but keep it out of ditches.
