Nevada Gaming authorities are releasing some information about what to expect when casinos and resorts open up on the world famous Las Vegas Strip this Thursday, June 4.

According to USA Today, the updated guideline information was released last week 'after a workshop meeting between health and public safety officials and the state’s Gaming Control Board'. So far, MGM Grand, Wynn Resorts, Caesars Palace and Bellagio have announced Thursday as their opening date. Some of the guidelines are listed below, but of course, check with your favorite casino before you head out to the airport for some fun in the desert.

  • Temperature checks. A medical crew will be on site, and all guests must have their temp checked before entering. A designated waiting area will be set up to wait for results if guests are feeling ill or have a temperature.
  • Masks. Some of the casino companies (Wynn Resorts, MGM and Caesars Entertainment) are requiring all employees to wear masks, and masks will be available for guests, per the Gaming Control Board. They are strongly suggesting they be worn, but so far it's not mandatory.
  • Occupancy Limits. Expect to only use every other machine on the casino floor, and see stringent disinfecting of gaming machines, chairs and other equipment.
  • Social distancing will be strictly enforced. Casino employees will be out in full force to make sure you don't violate the six feet rule
  • In restaurants and resort/hotel check in, you'll probably be asked to use the property's app to minimize contact. Expect to see plexiglass barriers when necessary.
  • Clubs are still closed, so leave your dancing shoes at home.
