Popular Free Parking Loophole at Disney World Set to Close
(KMDL-FM) Disney World bills itself as the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you've ever been, then you know the word you should be focusing on in that sentence is "bill" because when you visit any Disney property, you're going to get one of those. And now there is news that a popular money-saving loophole or hack used by frequent Disney guests is about to be closed.

The hack in question is about free parking. Disney World is making a change in its parking policy that will quietly but firmly close a loophole that annual pass members to the property and others have been using for years. And this could impact the travel budgets of families and fans of the Disney brand and Disney World in particular.
How Much Does It Cost to Park a Car at Disney World?
Parking at the four Disney parks in Florida begins at $35 per day. So, even if you're staying off property and eating sandwiches you made at home, the parking for a week-long stay at Disney is going to run you about $245. So, you can see why savvy Disney fans are going to be sad to see this "perk" closed tight as of June 28th.
To avoid paying the costly parking fee, many Disney fans have figured out that they can use the parking at Disney Springs to their advantage. Not only could you avoid the parking charges, but you also had access to Disney Transportation, which would whisk you around the different properties as only Disney Transportation can do.

As of June 28th, the free parking and ride the bus loophole will be pulled tight. New signage at Disney Springs has confirmed the change in policy.

Beginning Sunday, guests who want to take Disney Transportation from Disney Springs to one of the Disney Resort Hotels will have to provide proof of their current hotel accommodations, current dining reservations, or current activity registration.
Guests who can't provide that documentation will not be allowed to enter the bus transportation area at Disney Springs. The same policy will be in effect for guests who want to take the boat from Port Orleans.
