Shaking Out the Good Stuff — 7-Year-Old Lafayette Wish Kid Getting Send-Off to Disney World This Week
A Lafayette, Louisiana 7-year-old will receive the celebration of a lifetime later this week when he and his family will get a special send-off to Disney World.
Through the Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana and wish sponsor, Halliburton, Disney classics fan, and Wish Kid, Finn, will be heading to Disney World next month.
Finn, who is battling cancer, will receive a special send-off during his wish celebration. He and his family will have a chance to meet his favorite classic characters Mickey and Chewbacca, explore Animal Kingdom, ride roller coasters, and watch fireworks over Cinderella's castle.
“Halliburton is delighted to help make Finn’s wish to visit the Disney theme parks come true,” said Lisa Modica, vice president, Global Labor and Employment Law and president of the Halliburton Charitable Foundation. “Finn and his family are experiencing a difficult time, and this is one simple way we can support the family and help them make meaningful memories through the Make-A-Wish foundation.”
Finn's trip will actually take place in May, 13 days after his wish celebration.
He's one tough cookie. Finn remained strong and resilient during his battle with cancer and now his wish celebration will be one of the main kickoffs for World Wish Month.
During April, WishMakers, like Halliburton, will continue to help bring life to the impact of a wish to eligible children across the Texas Gulf Coast and the State of Louisiana.
“Wishes are essential to showing children with critical illnesses that they have a
community of caring supporters who wholeheartedly want to give them a piece of their childhood back with a wish,” said Shelly Millwee, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana. “Finn’s wish celebration is a powerful way to bring an entire community together to rally around his dream, and what a dream it is to celebrate the end of his treatments at one of the magical places on Earth.”
