14-year-old Cortland Reed from Opelousas has done something pretty amazing for the Acadiana community this Thanksgiving. As a result of his hard work and amazing heart, 175 area families won't have to go hungry this Thanksgiving.

He's only 14, but this is his 5th annual food drive! This past Monday, Reed proudly delivered over 2,000 pounds of food to the Opelousas Food Bank.

Reed says he was inspired to help his community five years ago when he saw a commercial on TV about starving people.

Courtland Reed, I'd like to say thank you for doing what you're doing. You obviously understand the value of community, and the importance of helping out your fellow man.

To Courtland's family, thank you for great job you've done raising such a fine young man. I have three kids of my own, and truly hope I can do even half of the job raising them like you've done raising Courtland.
