Louisiana Lottery Confirms $150,000 Powerball Winner Sold for Saturday's Drawing

There was no winner in Saturday's multi-state lottery draw game, Powerball. Saturday's top prize was $120 million with a cash payout of $54.5 million. There were no jackpot winners sold.

But Louisiana Lottery fans will want to watch the drawing because a $150,000 winner was sold in the state for Saturday's drawing.

The Louisiana Lottery did confirm to us that a Louisiana ticket was one of three tickets that earned a Powerball prize of $150,000 in Saturday's drawing. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball.

By rule, that ticket is worth $50,000. But the ticket's purchaser spent the extra $1 and added the Power Play option to their ticket. That means the ticket's winnings were multiplied by whatever number was drawn for Power Play, and in this instance, that multiplier was "x3".

Powerball will hold another jackpot drawing tonight. The top prize in the game is an estimated annuitized prize of $130 million. The estimated payout for a winner who chooses that option is $59.1 million. The drawing is at 10 pm.

Louisiana's Easy 5 Game Gets Second Jackpot Win in As Many Drawings

That's right, the game has made two jackpot winners in a row. There was a $70,000 winner in this past Wednesday's drawing. That big money winner was sold in Metairie. Meanwhile, Saturday's big money win in Easy 5 took place in North Louisiana. 

According to the winner's portal on the Louisiana Lottery website, the $50,000 Easy 5 winner was sold at S Mart #1, which is located at 1206 Harrison Street in Rayville, Louisiana. The Easy 5 game will reset to $50,000 when it draws again on Wednesday night.
