Louisiana Lottery Reveals Weekend Results

(KMDL-FM) The Louisiana Lottery is all about giving you a reason to smile, that's what they say in their commercials and for folks in Lafayette, New Iberia, Abbeville, Crowley, and a lot of other cities, large and small across the state, the lottery has delivered those smiles.

Sometimes the smiles come in the form of huge payouts on the Powerball or Mega Millions multi-state lottery games. Sometimes it's Louisiana's own Lotto or Easy 5 that provides the reason to smile. Then again, you might find yourself showing your teeth after playing a scratch-off game from the lottery as well. Louisiana's list of winners seems to grow every week.

However, this particular weekend wasn't one of the Louisiana Lottery's most lucrative weekends for handing out winnings. We did have a few big wins across Louisiana, but most of the data that we are seeing suggests mid-range to low-range wins as far as the big prizes go. Here's how Louisiana's Lottery weekend played out.

On Friday, May 16, 2025, the Mega Millions game drew for a top prize of $122 million for the annuitized jackpot; the lump sum payout was estimated to be $54.8 million. No tickets sold across the game's footprint earned that jackpot. No ticket earned the Match 5 Million money either.

The largest prize awarded by Mega Millions on Friday was $30,000. Two tickets sold across the Mega-verse claimed that prize, and another two tickets earned a prize of $20,000. None of those tickets were sold in Louisiana.

On Saturday, Powerball held a drawing for $125 million for the annuitized jackpot with a lump sum payout estimated to be $56.2 million. There were no jackpot winners sold on Saturday for that drawing either. However, ten tickets sold across the game's footprint earned $10,000 while another three tickets with the same number match scenario of four white balls and the Powerball earned a prize of $100,000 because of the game's "x3" multiplier with the Power Play.

On Saturday, the Louisiana Lottery also held drawings in two state-sponsored games. Those games are Lotto and Easy 5. Neither game created a jackpot winner. So, when those two games draw again on Wednesday, the Lotto top prize will be an estimated $775,000. The Easy 5 Jackpot will be an estimated $190,000.
