Louisiana Lottery – Saturday Ticket is $270,000 Winner
The Louisiana Lottery has revealed that Louisiana's second largest lottery prize for the month of May may have been won in Saturday night's drawings. Based on website confirmation it does appear as if the state's second largest lottery prize winner this month will not come from Powerball or Mega Millions. It will come from one of the state's lesser talked about draw games.
This past Saturday night while much of the lottery world was focused on the Powerball jackpot $214.5 million dollars there were two other lottery games being played in the state. The Lotto game and the Easy 5 game are on the same drawing schedule as the Powerball game. The exception being Mondays. Powerball will have a drawing on Monday, Lotto and Easy 5 only draw on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
We mentioned earlier that Saturday's winner was the state's second largest lottery win for the month of May. The largest prize a state sold ticket has generated this month was a $700,000 winner that was sold on the sixth of May for the Lotto game. The jackpot in the Lotto game is estimated to be at least $650,000 by Wednesday night's drawing.
So, by process of elimination you've figured out that Easy 5 was the game that provided last night's big win for Louisiana's lottery players. The ticket from what we are able to pull from the Louisiana Lottery website was sold in Gonzales, Louisiana. We do not have the point of purchase information available. You can verify your numbers against those posted in the Tweet from the Louisiana Lottery.
There will be a Powerball drawing tonight (Memorial Day May 29,2023). The game's top prize will be an estimated $226,000,000. If you choose to play, play responsibly and good luck.
