(KMDL-FM) Monday's drawing of the multi-state lottery game Powerball was the 43rd drawing since that game had last produced a jackpot. Monday's drawing did not produce a jackpot winner either; however, there were big wins in Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Lottery.

Let's bring you up to speed on the latest confirmed information regarding Monday's Powerball lottery drawing. According to host Laura Johnson, the jackpot at the time of the Powerball drawing on Monday night was $1.146 billion.

If you're not familiar with how to play and win at Powerball, the game's rules are fairly straightforward. Select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, then select one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball. The amount of your prize is determined by how many of the balls you match.

If you match all five of the white balls but not the Powerball, that's called a Match 5 Million, and it happens more often than you might think. In fact, for Saturday's Powerball drawing, there were seven Match 5 Million winners.
