(KMDL-FM) The Louisiana Lottery and Powerball have confirmed that the Wednesday, April 30, 2026, Powerball drawing has made a multitude of millionaires. According to the Louisiana Lottery winners page, 11 tickets sold in the state for Wednesday's drawing earned a prize of $1 million or more.

But Louisiana wasn't the only state where Powerball made big winners. The game's jackpot prize of $143 million was split between two winning tickets. One jackpot winner was sold in Kansas. The other jackpot winner was sold in Indiana.

Louisiana Has 11 New Millionaires Following Wednesday's Powerball Drawing

We mentioned the Louisiana Lottery had confirmed 11 new millionaires in Louisiana, but there were also $2 million winning tickets sold in Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. Those players matched all five of the white balls and opted for the game's Power Play feature.

There were also a large number of Match 5 Million winning tickets that didn't opt for Power Play in Wednesday's drawing. Louisiana had six tickets that earned a one-million-dollar prize. There were also Match 5 Million winners in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

I don't think in all of my years of covering lottery games have we ever had this many big money winners in a single drawing. I would not be surprised if there isn't some kind of investigation into this particular drawing.

How Much Was the Powerball Jackpot for Wednesday, April 29, 2026?

Last night's Powerball jackpot, for the annuitized prize, was $143.4 million. Here is how that drawing unfolded.

Oddly enough, almost all of the "Big Money Wins" were for either one million or two million dollars in Louisiana. The Louisiana Lottery winner's page didn't show any $50,000 winners or tickets that matched multiple white balls and the Powerball, which is usually the case when there is a large prize won in the state.

If you look at the numbers that were drawn in Wednesday's Powerball game. You will see there is nothing "unique" about them. But what is unique is the fact that so many tickets shared those same numbers. Not only were there a multitude of Match 5 Million winners, but quite a few of the Match 5 Million with Power Play wins as well.
