Louisiana Results From Wednesday’s Powerball Drawing

Lottery fever may be the only thing hotter than the Louisiana summertime right now. Both of the multi-state lottery games that are offered in Louisiana have some incredibly large jackpots. The Mega Millions Game produced big winners in Louisiana with Tuesday's drawing but there was no jackpot winner. That game will draw for a jackpot of an estimated $560 million dollars on Friday.

Meanwhile, last night, The Powerball Lottery Game conducted their Wednesday night drawing for a chance to win $746,300,000. If you missed that drawing here is how the ping pong balls bounced.

Wednesday's drawing was a good news/bad news affair for most lottery players across Louisiana and the nation. The bad news is there was not a single ticket that was sold that matched the numbers needed to win the jackpot of $746 million dollars.

There were some $1,000,000 tickets sold in Florida and Indiana. The purchasers of those tickets matched all five of the white ball numbers but whiffed on the Powerball.

When comparing the results of Wednesday's Powerball drawing as they concern lottery players in Louisiana and Texas we can say without a doubt, Texas had the better night. The Texas Lottery is reporting that two tickets sold for last night's game were $50,000 winners and another pair of tickets sold for last night are worth $150,000.

Powerball winners in Louisiana were not as fortunate as their Lone Star State counterparts. The Louisiana Lottery Corporations Big Wins page suggests that the largest prize claimed by a Louisiana-sold ticket for last night was $300. There were a dozen tickets sold in the state that can lay claim to that prize money.

Lottery officials in Louisiana also say thirty-three other tickets sold for last night's game are worth $100 this morning. There were also about a thousand tickets sold for last night where players either doubled or tripled their investment, depending on the opt-in for the Power Play, last night.

By the way, the Lotto and Easy 5 games haven't had winners in a while either. Those jackpots are $975,000 for Lotto and $220,000 for Easy 5. The next drawing for those games will be held on Saturday.

The next Powerball drawing will be on Saturday as well. It is estimated that the game's top prize will be $875 million or more. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot will be an estimated $560 million.
