Louisiana Ticket Wins $191 Million Powerball Jackpot

If someone you know suddenly calls in sick this morning and you start seeing pictures of them on a tropical beach sipping an umbrella drink before 9 AM they just might be the one.

Officials with the Louisiana Lottery say last night's $191.1 million jackpot was won by a single ticket that was purchased in Louisiana. WWL TV in New Orleans is reporting the ticket was sold in Eunice. 

Officials estimate that the one-time lump sum payout for the jackpot before taxes will be $119.4 million.

Lottery officials say a ticket worth $1 million was sold in Florida.

The Powerball jackpot will now reset to $40 million for this Saturday's drawing.
