There is nothing more relaxing than watching the flicker of a flame dancing across the shadows on your ceiling on a cold winter night. There is just something extra cozy about that candle flame. And if you've decided to light a Yankee Candle then chances are your candle's flame is also distributing a wonderful fragrance for your home.

According to the website, candlejunkies.com the most popular scent for a Yankee Candle is Pink Sands. The second most popular is Macintosh, the fruit not the computer, then comes Autumn Wreath at number three, Clean Cotton at number four, and rounding out the top five is Christmas Cookie.

And, if you weren't aware, candles for their size and stature might seem small but their economic impact is huge. It is estimated that 3.2 billion dollars are spent in just the United States on candles. And many of those candles are from the Yankee Candle brand. One other fascinating fact about these candles, 90% of them are purchased by women.

The leading reason one candle is purchased over another? It's all about the fragrance. And if you're like me, you have a fragrance that is your go-to. Which is why it's such a bummer when you finally burn that favorite candle out.

Ashley made a startling claim on the social media site which will no doubt send you to your closet to collect your burned-out candles and head for the store.

She says that Yankee Candles has a policy that allows a jar-for-jar trade-in. According to @ashlester if you bring in a burned-up and burned-out Yankee Candle into one of their stores and tell them you just didn't like it, they will give you another candle free of charge.

No, it was not made clear how many candles you could swap out at a time but in the world of reasonable people "one" should be all you need to do at a time. And with over 600 different fragrances and scents to choose from, chances are you'll find a candle you like. Oh, and the best part, you don't need to bring in a receipt to make the exchange.
