The College Football Selection Committee released its second look at the 2019 playoff rankings on Tuesday and after an emotional win in Tuscaloosa, the LSU Tigers find themselves atop the college football mountain right now.

This week the Tigers will make their final road trip of the regular season to Ole Miss. The Rebels are 4-6 overall and just 2-4 in the SEC with wins coming against Vanderbilt and Arkansas.

LSU now has four wins against teams who were ranked in the top 10 when they played them and they're 9-0.

Here's how the top 10 shook out:

  1. LSU (9-0)
  2. Ohio State (9-0)
  3. Clemson (10-0)
  4. Georgia (8-1)
  5. Alabama (8-1)
  6. Oregon (8-1)
  7. Utah (8-1)
  8. Minnesota (9-1)
  9. Penn State (8-1)
  10. Oklahoma (8-1)

The greatest jumps were made by Minnesota who wasn't in the top 10 last week as they defeated Penn State who falls from the top four all the way to nine.

As for LSU, the win against Alabama is obviously huge, the fact they were able to take them down propelled them to the top spot this week. If they continue to handle their business and win they'll remain in that spot.
