(KMDL-FM) Last week, we reported that the USDA's Food Safety Inspection Service had recalled approximately 58 million pounds of sausage and corn dog products from Hillshire Brands. Today, we have learned that USDA and FSIS have added another 3.8 million pounds of product to the recall list, this time in the form of chicken corn dogs.

This is a different recall than the one you may have heard about. The recall from last week was for corn dogs made with beef and pork products. This week's recall is for chicken corn dogs. It's a product that is very similar to the beef and pork variety; it's just that the protein contained within the batter and served on a stick is made with chicken.

As we mentioned, the recently issued recall notice was made in conjunction with Foster Poultry Farms of Livingston, California. The concern in this recall is similar to the concern from the other corn dog recall. Namely, bits of wood or extraneous material could have contaminated the batter.

What Is the Reason That More Corn Dog Products Have Been Recalled?

Just like the other corn dog recall, there are concerns that the products, which were produced between July 30, 2024, and August 4, 2025, could be tucked away in freezers and cold storage units. So it is imperative that you check the product labeling before using.

We should also note that Foster Poultry acknowledges that some of the recalled products could have been shipped to military bases or to school lunch programs so cafeteria managers are urged to check their stock on hand.
