Nissan Recalling Close To 50,000 Vehicles For Brake Relay Issue
U.S. Safety regulators say that Nissan is recalling some 47,538 Leaf electric cars because of a bad relay that can affect the power of the brakes in these cars.
Documents show the problem has to do with a relay that inside of the brake booster, and if the weather is very cold, the relay could fail, and drivers would have to apply much more force to get the brakes to work.
While the company says there have been no crashes or injuries due to the relay issues, they plan to notify owners who will need to get their cars fixed.
The way to fix the issue is by reprogramming software in the car, and the reprogramming won't cost car owners any money.
The recall is for Leaf vehicles that were made between November 19, 2012 through July 31.
