It is time again for one of our favorite events of the year, the Elite 97 Nurses Banquet. This is where we simply say thank you to those who are at their best when we are at our worst.

We all know how hard every nurse in Acadiana works normally. But this last year and a half has pushed all of them to levels they probably never thought were possible.

Even though we can never say thank you enough to each and every nurse we come across, we'd like to at least extend a small token of our appreciation by inviting 97 nurses to be honored at this year's banquet.

As with just about everything over the last couple of years, we're having to pivot a bit. So this year, we won't have an in-person celebration. Instead, we're presenting the very first Drive-Thru Elite 97 Nurses Banquet, sponsored by Service Chevrolet Cadillac and presented by Home Furniture Plus Bedding.

Each nurse that is selected will be invited to swing through our parking lot on Tuesday, September 28 and we'll treat them to a pre-packaged hot meal from Petroleum Club and load them down with tons of great prizes from our fine sponsors, which include: Acadiana Foot Centers, Acadiana Harm Reduction, All About You Boutique & Gifts, Bryant Medical Group, Todd's Car Wash, & Waxing the City.

(Oh, and they'll be other surprises too. We can't tell all our secrets.)

We are now in the nomination process. Tell us which nurses that you know deserve the honor of being one of this year's Elite 97 Nurses. And if you don't mind, tell us a little bit about them and what makes them so special.

The deadline to nominate your favorite nurse is midnight on Friday, September 17, 2021. Then on Monday, September 20 on the Bruce & Jude Morning Show we'll reveal this year's honorees.

It will be necessary for as many Americans as possible to be vaccinated in order to finally return to some level of pre-pandemic normalcy, and hopefully these 30 answers provided here will help readers get vaccinated as soon they are able.
