One Ticket Claims Powerball Prize

Mother's Day is always a day of happiness or fond memories. For one fortunate soul I am pretty sure that Mother's Day 2016 will always have an even more important place in their memory. For one lucky ticket holder Mother's Day or the Saturday before will be remembered as the day they hit the Powerball jackpot.

It is estimated that last night's Powerball jackpot was worth $429 million by the time the ping pong balls dropped shortly before 10 PM local time. When the white balls and the one red power ball had settled down there was one winning ticket. That ticket according to lottery officials was sold in New Jersey.

The winning numbers were 5-25-26-44-66- PB 9

There were also a few other big winners in last night's drawing with $1 million winners in California, New York, Virginia, and Illinois. These tickets matched matched all five of the winning numbers but did not match the Powerball.

The next drawing for the nationwide lottery will be Wednesday at 9:59 PM local time and the estimated jackpot will be $40 million with an anticipated cash pay out of $26.2 million.
