Police Pursuit Leads To Crash On I-10

Louisiana State Police are reporting that a vehicle involved in a crash on I-10 yesterday was being pursued by authorities from Texas at the time the crash occurred. According to reports a vehicle that was wanted by officers of the Texas Department of Public Safety crossed the median of I-10 and was involved in a head-on crash with oncoming traffic in the westbound lanes.

That crash happened yesterday morning between the Toomey and Vinton Exits off of I-10 in Louisiana. Louisiana Troopers investigating the crash say that the occupant of the passenger vehicle was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.

Authorities in Texas say the driver of the passenger vehicle was wanted on felony charges. When officers attempted to arrest that individual he fled the scene that led to the pursuit and the resulting crash. It is reasonable to assume that additional charges will be added to the felony charges the suspect was already wanted in connection with.
