Hasn't There Already Been a Recall on Ground Cinnamon Products?

Just to refresh your memories on the original recall from March of last year. The products in question were ground cinnamon products that were sold predominantly at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar Stores. Again, the concern with the products is a higher-than-acceptable level of lead.

The higher concentrations of the metal in the body can also affect kidney function and create issues with the nervous system. Extremely high levels of lead have been known to contribute to seizure disorders and even death.

What Cinnamon Products Have Been Recalled By the FDA?

Here is the complete list of recalled cinnamon products. You will note the FDA has recently added, as of September 12, 2025, another brand/supplier of cinnamon. That product is sold under the Jiva Organic label.

If you have any of the recalled cinnamon products in your home, you are asked to discard them immediately. Louisiana chefs, cooks, homemakers, and bakers are asked to be especially cognizant of this cinnamon recall since many popular recipes created in Louisiana do involve the popular spice.
