Louisiana Lottery Confirms $231 Million Powerball Win Monday Night

(KMDL-FM) The folks at Powerball often tout the phrase, "Life-changing jackpot," when they host their drawings three times a week. The reason they use that phrase is that it's true. And last night's Powerball drawing, as confirmed by the Louisiana Lottery, did just that. A single ticket matched all the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize of $231 million.

The Powerball jackpot had been growing across the multi-state landscape of the game since March 3rd of this year. On that date, a ticket sold in Arkansas matched all the numbers needed to claim a jackpot prize of $250.8 million.

So, last night's jackpot was similar in size to that jackpot win. The other multi-state lottery game, Mega Millions, will draw tonight for a top prize of $100 million. That game last got a winner on St Patrick's Day when a ticket sold in Ohio matched the numbers needed to win a jackpot prize of $60 million.

Just two drawings before that, Mega Millions had another jackpot win. This time, the winning ticket was sold in Illinois. The top prize in that drawing from March 11 was $536 million.

How Much Was the Powerball Jackpot for April 6, 2026?

Alright, you're all caught up, let's get to last night's drawing. Here is the Powerball drawing for April 6, 2026. There was approximately $231 million up for grabs.

And that's the way the balls bounced last night. The numbers bounding out of the hopper not only produced a jackpot winner, but there was a Power Play Match 5 Million winner as well. That ticket, the $2 million winner, was sold at a QuikTrip Convenience store in Fort Worth.

Lottery Confirms Powerball Wins in Louisiana

Louisiana's Powerball luck was not as good as what they experienced in Texas. The largest prize earned by a Louisiana Powerball ticket for Monday's drawing was $200. Five tickets earned that prize, and another four tickets earned a prize of $100.

Still, there were several thousand winning tickets sold in Louisiana for Monday's drawing. Here are the numbers if you would like to check your tickets. The Powerball numbers for April 6, 2026, were:
