Powerball Results – Louisiana Lottery Confirms Huge Wednesday Win
Lottery players across Louisiana and the Powerball lottery footprint were a bit on edge last night. Tuesday evening had produced a single ticket jackpot winner for Mega Millions, the other multi-state lottery game popular in Louisiana. And because players in Opelousas, Walker, Livingston, and Brusly are a bit "superstitious" there was a speculation that Powerball would be creating a large winner in Louisiana as well.
Now we are not saying that those who live in the communities we mentioned above are the only superstitious players in Louisiana. Heck, anybody that plays "the lottery" at least believes in "luck" so why not throw in a few lucky charms, rabbit's feet, troll dolls, or special socks just to make it fun, right?
So we know Mega Millions just paid out a $344 million jackpot. The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday, March 26, 2025, was actually larger. In fact, when the balls dropped last night the estimated top prize for the Powerball annuity was $483.1 million with a lump sum estimation of $277.7 million.
I am sure you're wondering, did lottery lightning strike twice in Louisiana? Let's see. Here's the Powerball drawing from Wednesday night.
Sadly, Lady Luck did not deliver a double whammy win, instead there were some sizable prizes won by tickets sold across the Powerball footprint. Our sources at Powerball confirmed that three Match 5 Million tickets were sold for Wednesday's drawing. Those tickets were purchased in California, Washington DC, and New York.
Here are the numbers that we saw roll out of the hopper in Wednesday's drawing:
05 20 29 39 53 Powerball 06 Power Play x3
If you're looking at your ticket and those numbers and you have a prize match scenario make sure you verify that ticket at the Official Louisiana Lottery Website. That's the only place you can confirm your win and verify prize redemption.
Unfortunately, it looks as if the biggest Powerball payout in Louisiana for Wednesday was $300. There were four tickets sold in the state that earned that. Another seven tickets earned a prize of $100. The Power Play option is the reason for the difference in win totals.
Louisiana Lottery Confirms $100,000 Winner Wednesday Night
Wednesday night is a busy night at the Louisiana Lottery offices. In addition to Powerball the Lottery also holds drawings for Lotto and for Easy 5. The Lotto jackpot was listed at over $1.2 million for last night. There was no winner.
However, a ticket sold for Easy 5 matched all the numbers needed to win $100,000 last night. Our sources inside the Louisiana Lottery confirmed that a ticket sold in Walker, Louisiana at the Best Stop 24 on Walker Road North was an Easy 5 jackpot winner.
That game will now reset to a starting amount of $50,000 for Saturday night's drawing. Meanwhile, Lotto will draw for $2.2 million and Powerball will draw for $515 million on Saturday night.
Mega Millions will have two more drawings under that game's current format and then on April 8th the "All New Mega Millions" will be available to players. It's more expensive to play but the jackpots are going to be larger and they will grow more quickly. According to Mega Millions, players should enjoy the experience a lot more.
I guess we will find out on April 8th moving forward. Speaking of moving forward most lottery tickets do not produce winners. Please play responsibly and understand there is a significant risk that you will lose your money. If you have a gambling problem, help is available by calling 1-877-770-STOP (7867).
