The International Rice Festival, one of the largest festivals in Acadiana, has been put on "hold".

The festival board came to the decision of postponing the event after considering information from and guidelines presented by state government.

Our focus is the safety and wellbeing of all our volunteers and visitors and our ability to produce an event to the standards that our festival goers are accustomed to and deserve. - Joshua Spell, Chairman

This is the 84th year for the Rice Festival in Crowley. The press release goes on to say that all of this year's "officials" (board, queens, etc) will retain their positions until the festival is held.
