If you slide down Simcoe Street in Lafayette Louisiana and find yourself in the 2900 block of that road you will be near a golf course and an airport. You will also be very close to what is often referred to as "Lafayette's Best Kept Secret".  The place we are talking about is an establishment that has been keeping Acadiana "hydrated" for more than two decades. Have you ever visited McMillan's Pub?

If you're a billiards player, beer drinker, community shaker, or appreciate songs, singers, and lyrics then you know McMillans Pub. It's a great place for pool and songwriter nights. It's also a wonderful place to find new friends and reconnect with acquaintances you've had for years.

But around Christmas, if you pay a visit to McMillans Pub on Simcoe in Lafayette you might find the interior looking less like a place to shoot billiards and drink beer and more like a place where elves and large white-bearded men in red suits might hang around.

The reason McMillan's Pub goes "North Pole" this time of year is called Rosa's Angels. For that reason, they are the subject of our Morton Salt "Shaking Out the Good Stuff" spotlight.

Robin McMillan is the driving force behind Rosa's Angels and each year she and her elves scour the community for individuals such as you who might want to help make a "Christmas Wish" come true for a deserving child in Acadiana. Without Rosa's Angels, many of these kids would have a bleak Christmas.

But, because of Rosa's Angels, and if you haven't figured out you're the Angel in this, these kids get clothes, necessities, and even some fun stuff to. From what we've been told this year the "need" for toys and gifts for deserving children is larger than it has ever been. So, if you'd like to help, you can send Robin and Rosa's Angels a message on their Facebook Page.

Whether you want to donate the items from a specific child's list or you just want to make a monetary donation it will all be put to good use. But please, do allow the spirit of Christmas to move you sooner rather than later as there is still much work to be done.
