New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis made plays all over the field in Sunday's 33-18 win against the New York Giants.

Davis finished with 11 tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks, leading a unit that put together its best performance of the season.

For his effort, Davis was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week today.

The 6'2, 248 pound linebacker signed with the Saints last offseason after a career year with the New York Jets.

He's the first New Orleans linebacker to win the award in 5 seasons.

Former Saints LB Junior Gallette won the award in 2014. He was technically listed as an outside linebacker in Rob Ryan's defense, though he was more of a pass rusher and fits the mold of a defensive end in a traditional 4'3 defensive scheme.

Davis plays weakside linebacker, and has plenty of career experience playing in the middle.
