Saints Try Out Robert Meachem, Or Was It Robques Meacholston?

Saints fans who attended mini-camp this morning saw a familiar face wearing a familiar number. Mark Ingram referred to the player as Robques Meachholston.

31 year old Robert Meachem, who spent 7 of his 8 NFL seasons with the Saints was a player participant in this morning's minicamp practice.

Meachem last played for the Saints in 2014 as a reserve wide receiver.

The oddity of Meachem's presence was his jersey number. Meachem sported #12 at practice, confusing a few fans in attendance.

#12 was worn for the last 10 years by Marques Colston, the Saints all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns.

Mike Triplett of espn.com reported Saints running back Ingram jokingly referring to Meachem as Robques Meacholston.
