Shaking Out the Good Stuff — Buck Barras Memorial Foundation Hosting First ‘Masked Singer’ Event on Aug. 23
We've all been to great local charity events like a 5K run, golf tournament, clay sport shoot and the like. But have you ever been to a charity Masked Singer event?
That answer is probably no. The Buck Barras Memorial Foundation is changing that as they're hosting the very first one of these in Acadiana (as far as we know).
The 1st Annual Buck Barras Memorial Foundation Masked Singer will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Cade Community Center in Cade, Louisiana.
The competition will have six contestants who will consist of local musicians, entertainers, celebrities, or well-known people from Acadiana, all competing in a singing/entertainment competition masked.
Before each performance, the audience will decide who their favorite entertainer is by voting on who they want to move on to the next round ($1 = 1 Vote). After each round, the two contestants with the least number of votes (money raised) in that round will be unmasked and eliminated from the competition.
The last entertainer standing will be the winner of the 1st Annual Buck Barras Memorial Foundation Masked Singer.
How do I purchase tickets for the Buck Barras Memorial Foundation Masked Singer?
While all tables are sold out for the event, individual tickets can be purchased by contacting any of the Foundation's members or you can buy at the door. (A list of members can be found here.)
Individual tickets are $30. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event.

About the Buck Barras Memorial Foundation
The foundation was established in 2021 by friends and family of St. Martin Parish native Buck Barras, who tragically passed away.
Through various fundraisers, including their signature Potato Cook-Off in Parks and cornhole tournaments, the organization has been able to donate thousands of dollars in scholarships over the last three years to local high school and college graduates.
Those scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who have lost a parent.
