For this week's "Shaking Out the Good Stuff" feature, we have two wonderful stories of positive news to share.

We'll start with the young men and women and the faculty at Lafayette's St. Thomas More High School.

The school's football team recently made a huge delivery of non-perishable food items to the FoodNet Food Bank which helps our neighbors in the Acadiana area who experience hunger.

The donation was part of the school's annual CanStruction food drive.

In total, the school collected over 23,000 cans during their event.

Amazing job STM! Keep up the great work.

The other story we want to share with you comes from Acadiana High School and in particular, a player from the football team.

The Wreckin' Rams football team was originally scheduled to play on Friday night in a big home game versus Zachary. However, Hurricane Francine altered many games in the area, including this game.

Instead of Friday, the game was played on Saturday at 7:00 pm.

That was a problem for one young man on the team and his family -- his brother was getting married at 6:00 pm!

But a great community like the one we have in Scott, Louisiana, was not going to let Braxton Scriber miss his brother Blaise's wedding.

With the help of Kristin McCullough, wife of Wreckin' Rams head coach Matt McCullough, Braxton was escorted to catch the ceremony (in his football uniform) and then whisked back to the game just in time.

Oh, and Acadiana beat Zachary 43-28, so it was a great night for the Scriber family along with the Wreckin' Rams.

The touching moment after the ceremony was, of course, caught on camera.
