A cold front moved through the area during the nighttime hours and the cooling off of Acadiana has begun. We won't see any drastic temperature drops during the day today but you will notice the humidity levels are way down and the breeze is now blowing out of the north.

The Storm Prediction Center is not anticipating this weather system to bring any severe weather to the area. In fact, rainfall totals will be minimal most places will see about a tenth of an inch of rain. Local areas could see a little less, some could see a little more.

Skies across the area should be partly to mostly cloudy and the best chance of seeing a shower will come later this afternoon and into the evening and late evening hours. The good news is that most of the precipitation should be out of your way by the time your work or school day begins tomorrow.

Thursday night if you're heading out to Rhythms on the River at River Ranch to see Jo-el Sonnier and John Schneider perform you'll certainly want to bring a jacket and maybe even a blanket to make sure you're comfortable.

The nice Autumn weather should continue through Friday night which is perfect for High School Playoff football and Downtown Alive in Lafayette. The nice weather should hold for the weekend as well.
