A standoff that blocked traffic on a major thoroughfare in Cade for much of Wednesday afternoon did come to a peaceful conclusion after several hours. It ended with a suspect under arrest and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

According to KATC's Chris Welty who was reporting live from the scene in Cade for much of the afternoon the incident began with an argument outside of a convenience store on La. 182. During the course of that disagreement 60-year-old, Daniel S. Vallot of Cade reportedly brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot the two individuals he was arguing with.

Vallot then left the scene and retreated to a trailer which was located behind the business where the incident began. Over the course of the next hour or so,  deputies blocked the roadways in and around the scene and began negotiating with Vallot.

Vallot eventually exited the trailer and was arrested.
