Steve Gleason Hospitalized
Yesterday was Saints legend Steve Gleason's birthday.
Unfortunately, he had to spend his birthday in hospital at Ochsner Medical Center. He tweeted that he was there, but he plans on going home soon.
"I've spent the last few days at Ochsner Medical. A precautionary measure," Gleason said.
Gleason, of course, became a legend to Saints fans, and to New Orleans when he blocked a punt against the Atlanta Falcons during the first game back when the Superdome was reopened after Hurricane Katrina.
He announced that he was diagnosed with ALS in 2011. His Team Gleason organization has been a leading fundraiser to help those with ALS.
Gleason attended the retirement ceremony last week for former teammate Zach Strief.
He turned 41 on March 19th.
